Why Meditate?

The healing and balancing power of meditation cannot be underestimated. You become healthier, happier and your day flows a lot better.
Immediate benefits include reducing the heat and pressure in your head from high blood pressure, reducing anxiety and upset stomachs and clearer thinking. And – mirror time – you may find you actually get along with others a little better!
Through meditation, many people find a deeper connection with their inner guidance. It is the feeling you get that draws you to do or say something you might not normally do. Or to not do or say something.
Some are lifted into a beautiful space of peace and harmony – a real soul connection. Some say meditation is essential daily nutrition for the soul!
Amazingly Simple Meditations
Running short of time? Things to do? Try one of these. They all help:
Breathe deeply. Just for a few minutes. This technique is good for beginners because breathing is a natural function.
Scan your body. Focus attention on different parts of your body. From top to bottom. Relax each muscle in tension.
Repeat a mantra. You can create your own mantra or use one you have read. For example, say “Today I let go of what I cannot control and focus on what I can do”. Or perhaps “I am guided by the universe and trust my feelings to bring me the best outcome.”
Walk and meditate. Combining a walk with meditation is an efficient and healthy way to relax. You can use this technique anywhere you’re walking, such as in a tranquil forest, on a city footpath or at the mall.
Read and reflect. Many people report that they benefit from reading poems or sacred texts, and taking a few moments to quietly reflect on their meaning.
Focus your love and kindness. In this type of meditation, you think of others with feelings of love, compassion and kindness. This can help increase how connected you feel to others.
